Kirkland Annex is an integral part of the Foster-Powell Neighborhood located just five miles southeast of downtown Portland on the east side of the Willamette River. This Southeast Portland neighborhood’s triangular shape is bounded by the corner of SE Powell Boulevard, SE Foster Road, and SE 82nd Avenue. The neighborhood has gained the reputation of being ethnically diverse which brings the benefits of wonderful international restaurants and shops.
The building is within walking distance of Tri-Met’s public transportation. There are two different bus lines within close walking distance: Tri-Met’s 14-Hawthorne Bus Line and 10-Harold Street Bus Line as well as Tri-Met’s MAX Green Line. Several grocery stores are in the neighborhood including Stop N Save, and Fred Meyer.
Enjoy a short walk to Eastport Plaza and take in a movie at Cinemark’s Century 16 Movie Theater. Play a round or two of golf, hit a bucket of balls at the two tiered driving range, or dine in the bar and grill at the Eastmoreland Golf Course, just a 10 minute drive away. For those avid readers, just a half a mile north there’s the Holgate Public Library. The Foster-Powell neighborhood is home to many businesses. Enjoy delicious food at one of many nearby restaurants, including the Arleta Library Bakery Cafe, the Super King Buffet, Pho Vietnam, Thunderbird, the Gyro House Mediterranean Grill, Road Runner Barbeque and many more. It’s not hard to find a good cup of coffee nearby at Sandino Coffee Roasters, Pieper Cafe, Speedboat Coffee, Black Rock Coffee Bar, or Dutch Brother’s Coffee.
